I’ve always been “the tech guy”, from building my own computer as a child, to making special-effects laden home movies, and naturally being the go-to I.T. support for friends and family. In retrospect, I honed this myriad of skills through self-guided digital learning experiences (which, 20 years ago, was primarily via online tutorials, forums, and documentation). Because of this history, I’m now enthusiastic about creative new solutions that foster lifelong learning and make instruction effective and engaging.
Throughout high school, I was passionate about multimedia production and graphic design, giving me a strong creative foundation. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History from Westmont College, and obtained a Social Science Teaching Credential from CSU Fresno. While I decided not to pursue teaching as a career, I remained within the sphere of education, and in 2014 began working for a professional licensing education provider. This was primarily a remote customer service and technical support role, but I soon began taking on eLearning projects involving LMS administration, course development, and my first exposure to instructional design as a career field.
I am a California native, but I’ve also lived in Chicago and consider Atlanta a home away from home. I am passionate about music, all things outdoors, and spending quality time with my family, friends, and pets.
